Mixology Monday - Bourbon

Monday has come and gone here at the cocktail hour and I'm just getting to my Mixology Monday post. During this time of year, the nectarines in the market are perfect I thought I'd try to mix something up with the nectarines and this months spirit, Bourbon.

Nectarine Daisy

2 oz. Bourbon
splash Grand Marnier
splash sparkling water

1 dash simple syrup

1 dash Fee's Old-Fashion Aromatic Bitters

1 quarter-section fresh, ripe nectarine

Muddle the nectarine and bourbon in the bottom of a mixing glass. Add Grand Marnier, simple syrup, bitters and ice. Shake well and strain into a rocks glass filled with crushed ice. Top with slight splash of sparkling water. Serve with a straw and garnish with a slice of nectarine or a sprig of mint.

This recipe is a basic adaptation from the original daisy formula. Mixology Monday is hosted this time around at Scofflaw's Den.
